With its prominent "Delta Fins" the Bill Mitchell designed Buick for 1959 was a radical departure from earlier models.

The Electra 225 6 window Riviera body was shared exclusively with Cadillac and was Buick's halo car.

For 1959 the Roadmaster was renamed Electra 225 being named after Electra Waggoner Biggs by her brother-in-law Harlow H. Curtice, GM's President.

Why 225? The car was 225 inches long!
